Notice is given that the 30th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Northside Community Forum Limited (Northside) will be held on Wednesday, 16 November 2016 at 1:30pm at Dee Why RSL Club, 932 Pittwater Road, Dee Why, NSW.

A person is eligible for election as a Director of Northside under clause 39.2(a) of its Constitution if they are a member of Northside, or a representative of a member of Northside (appointed under Clause 24 of the Constitution), are nominated by two members or representatives of members entitled to vote (unless the person was previously elected as a Director at a General Meeting and has been a Director since that Meeting), give Northside their signed Consent to Act as a Director of Northside, and are not ineligible to be a Director under the Corporations Act or the ACNC Act. Nominations of candidates for election as Directors must be delivered to the Secretary of Northside at its registered address or at MargaretB@yournorthside.org.au by 5pm, Wednesday, 2 November 2016.

Members have the right to appoint a proxy.  The proxy does not need to be a member of Northside.  The proxy form must be delivered to Northside at its registered address or at MargaretB@yournorthside.org.au by 1:30pm, Monday, 14 November 2016.

Election of Directors

Mr Michael Fine

Mr Fine is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology at Macquarie University, Sydney and former Head of Department.  He has researched, published and taught in the fields of social policy, ageing, care and human services.  He was Vice-President of RC11 (the Research Committee of Ageing) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) and a member of the executive, and is a Fellow of the Australian Association of Gerontology and a former State President (NSW).  He was Chair of the Scientific Committee for the AAG Annual Conference in 2006 and 2013.  He is currently a member of the NSW Ministerial Advisory Committee on Ageing and editorial advisor and editorial board member to a number of international journals.

Mr Ramon del Carmen

Mr del Carmen is a senior organisational leader with extensive experience in highly competitive and heavily regulated environments including commercial banking and telecommunications as well as the not-for-profit health sector.  He combines innovation and strategic thinking with strong leadership to deliver results in challenging environments that are undergoing significant and time-critical change.  Mr del Carmen is currently the CEO of Primary and Community Care Services Limited (PCCS), a health-based service provider involved in the development and delivery of local solutions that promote whole of person care and integrated wrap-around care through strong partnerships with other health and community-based organisations.  Prior to PCCS, Mr del Carmen was the CEO of Northern Sydney Medicare Local where he and his team worked to reduce fragmentation and build better links between those delivering and those receiving health services resulting in a smoother healthcare journey and improved community health.  He also held the position of CEO and Executive Director of St John of God Health Care’s two private psychiatric hospitals in NSW for over 10 years.  Mr del Carmen has a Bachelor of Economics from The University of Sydney, an MBA and a Master of Arts (Business Research) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management.   He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Gordon Wing-Lun

Mr Wing-Lun is an experienced senior executive, having had head of business roles at a number of international banks in Australia and overseas.  Mr Wing-Lun is an engineer by training, with an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.  Mr Wing-Lun has worked with and within a number of NSW government entities at senior levels, including General Manager – Corporate Finance.  More recently, Mr Wing-Lun has undertaken a number of consulting roles, most notably Bid Consultant for a number of recent PPP transactions.  Mr Wing-Lun is also an Associate at the University of Technology Sydney, where he is an occasional lecturer in investment and finance.  Since 2011, Mr Wing-Lun has been an active participant and volunteer in the not for profit sector, including working on the delivery of a service teaching conversational English.  Mr Wing-Lun has also been an active board member of two different NGOs, in the aged care and mental health sectors.

Mr Bradley O’Hara

Mr O’Hara has over 20 years’ corporate experience in the areas of Strategy, Finance and Risk.  His working life has exposed him to diverse community groups and this has helped him understand the unique challenges that these groups face, and how corporates and the not for profit sector can work together successfully to deliver on common goals.  He is passionate about helping in the community, having developed strategies and implemented community engagement programs whilst employed with NRMA.  Mr O’Hara has served on many committees both in the commercial and not for profit sectors.  He currently serves on the board of Spinal Cord Injuries Australia.  Mr O’Hara is a recipient of the Government of New South Wales medal for community service, a Member of the Institute of Automotive Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  Mr O’Hara uses his corporate knowledge and experience to strongly advocate for the disadvantaged, so that they too can gain the independence and quality of life that others enjoy.

Mr Stuart Snell

Mr Snell has over 30 years’ experience in media and communications as a former journalist and senior leader in corporate communications and reputation management.  He is a corporate affairs, communications and PR/media professional with extensive brand reputation and content planning and execution experience across traditional and digital channels, having worked for large government agencies and commercial organisations, mainly in the financial services sector.  Partnering with CEOs and business leaders, he helps lift company and brand profiles, builds and protects corporate and leader reputation, enhancing customer and consumer awareness, ultimately leading to perceived increase in the value of products and services and helping to achieve organisational strategy.  Mr Snell is currently Executive Manager, Public Affairs and Communications at Commonwealth Bank, and previously was leading the corporate affairs function of Australia’s largest life insurance company, TAL, after being Head of Public Affairs at financial services regulator APRA, Australia’s paramount financial services regulator.  He was a journalist for 13 years spending his last years as a senior journalist and sub-editor at Sydney’s Sunday Telegraph.  An active life saver at his local surf life saving club, Nr Snell is married with two children.  He has a Bachelor of Social Science and post graduate qualifications in Business and Finance.
