Home Care Package Data Report 4th Quarter 2017-18
Below is a summary of the HCP data for the 4th quarter 2017-18 (1 April – 30 June).
At March 31 there were 84,971 people receiving HCP, which has increased 20% since March 31 2017. In NSW there were 28,172 people receiving HCP.
At June 30, 2018, In the Northern Sydney Region, there were 2,984 people receiving HCP which is an increase of 232 since Dec 31 2017. In the Northern Sydney Region, 2,081 females were receiving HCP and 901 males.
There were 29,225 Home Care approvals in the June 2018 quarter, in NSW there were 9,680. The greatest number of approvals were for level 3 packages.
In NSW there were a total of 4,275 new entries as of June 2018. As of December 31, 2017 In the Northern Sydney Region there were a total of 388 new entries to Home Care, ≤10 level 1, 291 level 2, 65 level 3, 28 level 4.
In NSW there were 8,965 packages released during the June quarter, in the Northern Sydney Region there were 707 packages released. Of this number, 363 were level 1, 219 were level 2, 73 were level 3 and 52 were level 4.
As of March 2018, there were 869 approved Home Care providers which is an increase of 1% since last quarter.
As of June 30, in the Northern Sydney Region there were 37 approved HCP providers which is no change from March 31, 2018
There are currently 121,418 people on the national prioritisation queue. Roughly 50% of people in the queue are either in or assigned a lower level package.
In the Northern Sydney Region there were 2,140 people in the National Prioritisation Queue that were either not in, or assigned to a lower level package which is the largest number in NSW.
Estimated wait times for approved packages
Level 1: 1-3 months
Level 2: 9-12 months
Level 3: 12 months+
Level 4: 12 months+
The average published exit amount for approved providers as of June 30 was $244 and 40.8% of providers indicated that did not deduct an exit amount.
