Reflective Practice And Supervision Workshop (online)
- This event has passed.
This interactive workshop will focus on the importance of bringing the principles of reflective practice into supervision in the context of aged care. The workshop will explore: the fundamental goals of supervision and how to achieve these while safeguarding client care; creating an environment where reflective practice can take place; and how reflective practice contributes to high quality care, continuous improvement and building psychological safety and wellbeing.
What is reflective practice?
Reflective practice is a cycle of reflecting on an area of practice, thinking critically about alternative perspectives and looking to improve quality care delivery based on new understandings. It helps to engage in continuous learning and to gain insight into yourself or your work. There is growing evidence of the importance of reflective practice to support mental health and wellbeing, to explore emotional challenges and cope with escalating pressures.
Audience: Aged care managers and supervisors of direct care workers. Clinical managers, quality and safety managers.
This is a collaborative event brought to you by Your Side Sector Support and Ku-ring-gai Council Sector Support. Presenter: Dr Melisah Fenney, Organisational Psychologist, Bendelta
