Leading Mentally Healthy Teams (Oranges Toolkit Wellbeing Masterclass Series)
This is a great intro to support modern leaders create the conditions for their teams to thrive.
When people feel mentally healthy, they’re better equipped to perform well at work.
Unfortunately, one in five Aussies experience mental ill-health every year (National Study of Mental Health and Wellbeing, 2022) costing Australian workplaces a staggering $10.9 billion in absenteeism and presenteeism (PwC and Beyond Blue, 2014).
Alarmingly only 56% of Aussie workers felt comfortable talking about their mental health at work (Thriving Workplace Report, 2023). The good news is when we invest in workplace mental health and wellbeing, we can see returns of up to $4 for every $1 spent (Aust Productivity Commission, 2021)
With these statistics in mind, its essential organisations equip their leaders with the tools to create open and safe places for people to work at their best. It’s also essential that leaders destigmatise mental ill-health and have wellbeing-related conversations with their teams.
