Effective Incident Management Systems (IMS) – Online Workshop

This online workshop covers processes, guidance and practical examples of effective incident management systems. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce these key concepts while providing an explanation of how maintaining an effective incident management system will enable your reporting under the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).
Please note: This workshop has been developed as a revised version of the Incident Management System content covered in the full-day SIRS workshop, which has been run between December 2021 and July 2022.
Learning outcomes
Through active participation in this workshop, participants will:
- understand and recognise the importance of an effective IMS
- Know your roles and responsibilities within your IMS
- Know your role in responding to incidents under your IMS
- Be able to apply techniques and tips for better prevention, management and reporting of incidents
Target Audience
This workshopis suitable for employees of all levels within providers of aged care services, both home care and residential care. It has been developed based on feedback received from the sector and will be particularly relevant to anyone new to the sector or seeking an introductory overview of Incident Management Systems.
