This online workshop complements the guidance and resources on the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS) and the Effective IMS workshop and is specific to providers of aged care home services.
This interactive workshop includes practical activities designed to help participants understand their role and responsibility to meet the requirements of the SIRS. It focuses on provider obligations and provides examples to understand reporting requirements and processes.
Learning outcomes
Through active participation in this workshop, participants will:
- understand and recognise the importance of having an effective incident management system (IMS)
- know provider’s roles and responsibilities under SIRS
- know provider’s roles in responding to incidents under SIRS
- be able to apply techniques and tips for better prevention, management and reporting of incidents.
Target Audience
This workshop is for providers of aged care home services at the middle management level. This may include:
- coordinators
- service managers
- quality managers
- educators
- supervisors
- team leaders.
Participants are expected to have a sound knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and their application.
