Serious Incident Response Scheme and Responding to Abuse Webinar
- This event has passed.
What happens after a report of suspected, alleged or actual elder abuse is made to a supervisor within an agency? There are now different response pathways when there is an allegation of direct staff involvement in a serious incident leading to harm for a client and when there is an allegation of abuse caused by a family member or friend. What are the new mandatory reporting requirements for home support and home care providers after the introduction of the Serious Incident Reporting Scheme (SIRS) in late 2022? What do all staff and volunteers need to know and do? How does this relate to the NSW Interagency Policy on Responding to the Abuse of Older People.
This 90 minute session is designed for coordinators and senior staff. It covers the requirements for agency policy statements, the design of appropriate response procedures, incident management system requirements and the new reporting arrangements under SIRS. Facilitated by Glen Sorensen, Age Communications
