SUMMARY:Documenting and reporting for direct care staff
DESCRIPTION:What professional practice looks like and the guidelines and policies that support you. We will also consider when things can go wrong. \nThis course will look at what\, who and when you should be documenting information. We will provide an overview of the practices for documenting and reporting and why this skill is so important in our everyday work. \nWe will explore what should be documented and reported and discuss the use of templates used in your workplace and recording verbatim language. We will also consider when things can go wrong and the importance of having clear documentation that can be reviewed. \nThis course will build your understanding and confidence about what should be documented and reported in your role. We will discuss the difference between subjective and objective reporting and the use of templates in the workplace. We will also discuss the importance of understanding verbatim reporting and why we need to document and report information that can be shared with other stakeholders. This could include reviewing an issue that may be in question and further clarity is being sought. \nKey Questions we will answer: \n• Who\, needs to document information and when? \n• What is the difference between subjective and objective reporting? \n• How do we know what to report and document? \n• How are templates used and do they provide consistency. \n• What is verbatim reporting and why is this important? \n• How can documentation provide a record of events and clarity of a situation? \nThe webinar will be tailored to staff working in direct service provision roles across a range of settings. The content will therefore be linked to the Health Records ACT 2001\, Privacy Principles\, quality standards and programme guidelines. \n  \nBrought to you by Sector Support Central Coast and Hunter \nRegister here
